Last night as Dog and I walked at dusk, the air was thick and heavy with the sounds of springtime.
Coyotes howling, seemed as if they were within inches of me.
Bullfrogs croaking loudly.
Though at the lake a quarter of a mile away, it
sounded as if they were only feet away.
A whippoorwill singing its melodic song, loud and strong.
All this punctuated by the distant sound of a jet
thousands of feet in the air.
The air was also thick and heavy with the scents of spring.
Most prominent of all was the sweet, clean, fragrance of the magnolia tree.
I like the smell of our magnolia.
It brings me peace.
