Survey Says

Thank you all for your input on what I should do with the Canon Rebel XTi.  Hands down the consensus is that a giveaway of the XTi would be a good, if not grrreeeat, idea.

So, not wanting to buck the trend, I'm going to have a giveaway of the XTi.  Here's how it's going to work.

For those of you who left a comment on the New Toy post, you already have one entry.  If you would like an additional entry, leave a comment on this post telling me what type of camera you currently own.

If you did not leave a comment on the New Toy post, you can enter once by leaving a comment telling me what type of camera you currently own.  Sorry, you can't go back and leave a comment...I know how your little minds work!

What you'll win is a used Canon Rebel XTi with an 18-55mm lens, battery charger, and the cables that came with the camera.  Original purchase price of the camera was $800.00.

You will need to purchase a CF, compact flash, card, you can get these at Best Buy, Target, etc.  And, if your computer doesn't have a slot for a CF card, you'll need a card reader, they tend to work better than plugging the camera directly to the USB port of a computer.  At least that's been my experince.

So to sum up:

One entry per person, unless you left a comment on the New Toy post then you'll have two.

Giveaway will end on Wednesday, November 10 at noon CDT.

I will post the winner on Wednesday by 12:30 p.m. CDT so be sure and check back to see if you're the winner!

U.S. only 18 and older please.

  1. My current camera is a pink Sony Cybershot point and shoot. It stays in my purse at all times. I love the convenience of a point and shoot but would LOVE to have a more "professional" camera since I love taking pictures and editing them for fun. Your giveaway is so generous!!

  4. I have a cheap Kodak point and shoot that I got for free with some points I had saved up, after our last point and shoot camera broke. We've been checking out cameras for quite some time and definitely need a new one for taking good pictures of our 3 little ones. It's top on my Christmas list!

  5. I have been wanting a DSLR since Grace was born, but the hubby doesn't understand why I would need that fancy of a camera. This little beauty would get lots of lovin' from my family!

P.S. I think your hubby and my hubby need to hang out more. Maybe your hubby will rub off on mine and I will get some pretty darn awesome gifts for no reason

  8. Hey there! Wow...your blog is amazing. My name's Alexa (former student of yours!) and I had to enter this contest because I absolutely love to take pictures. I currently 'own' a Sony Cybershot. And technically it's on loan from a really great friend. I have two sweet, precious, wonderful, adorable, little girls; so I never know when the next irresistable moment is going to take place. I do carry the digital camera everywhere I go and really wouldn't mind the digital camera except for the fact that it's hard for me to capture those funny faces, or grumpy faces, or even happy faces, whatever the case may be...right at the exact momemt those cute faces happen due to the delay on a digital camera. I hope you are doing well! Take Care and Good Luck to All the Contestants!!

  11. Hey Mrs. Austin, Katie and I saw the link Lauren posted on Facebook. We had a Canon PowerShot PNS, but we recently lost it during the move to East Texas. However, we can not remain camera-less with the baby due any day...

  12. A Nikon something something. It's fancier than a P&S but not DSLR. I like it enough but I can really tell a difference in DSLR shots. There's something extra to them... Thanks for the give-away!

  13. You are giveaway QUEEN!! I have LOTS of pictures.... And three years behind on scrapbooks!! I have a little Nikon coolpix, which i carry everywhere. I also have a Nikon D80... And I really love it... I love photography, and while I have lots of "little props" doing cute things all the time, they aren't always the most cooperative... I wish I had more time to focus on it. :)

  14. I have a little kodak share. It's about 6 years old or so. It has been good but not good enough sometimes. There was a spider at my door at halloween that looked like a skelaton head with little spikes. I wanted a picture so bad but no go with my camera. Just got a black dot. Would have made an awesome halloween picture.

  19. I own a Canon ELPH SD750. My son gave it to me for my birthday a couple of years ago. It's easy to use, very small/compact and works great. I think I am ready to upgrade and would love the chance to try something with more bells and whistles. Thank you

  29. Right now our camera is a peice of paper and a pencil. If we're lucky we might find a crayon under the couch. We moved a few months ago and left our camera behind and have yet to replace it.
Thanks for giving away such a neat treasure.

  30. I use a couple point-and-click cameras (typically the Cybershot) and also snap pix with my phone. Or, I invite friends/family along that have great cameras and talent!

  31. So, hello! I do not have a camera to tell you about. That is why winning this one would be just so awesome :) Or hopefully my mom will win and i will talk her out of it.
