When is it....

..too early to decorate for Christmas?

I'm getting antsy to put out my Christmas decor; unlike the past couple of years where I could have cared less about putting anything beyond a tree with a few ornaments on it.

Maybe I'm feeling it this year because of this:

This cutie was on my Facebook wall a couple of days ago.  If I want him though, I have to go all the way to Oregon.  He resides at Baby Sis's friend's store.

And what store might that be you ask.

Why, thank you for asking.  Ol' St. Nick's domicile is Home At Last, owned by the wonderfully talented Dan Burngardt.  His place is always a must-go-to-see-what's-happening place when I'm in PDX.

I might also be feeling it because of this:

And this:

And this:

Last Saturday I was in Big D with Husband.  While he was at his meeting I went and did some retail therapy at Crate and Barrel.  They had the above decor.  I couldn't resist and bought some of that cuteness.

I also couldn't resist the urge to buy a gift card.

To giveaway.

To you.

Yes, you.

You wanna enter?  Go to the giveaway tab for all the details.

Now, I must decide how soon to put out all my Christmas stuff.

Tomorrow?  Nah, a bit too soon.

Next weekend?  Hmmm.....

  6. I was in Hobby Lobby yesterday and got all excited to decorate for Christmas. The last 3 Christmases I haven't really decorated because one year I went into labor a little early and spent the last half of December in the hospital, and the next two were spent traveling to Utah and Oregon. Since we're staying home this year I'm really excited to decorate. I'll probably start after the kids go to bed Thanksgiving night!

  13. We will usually decorate the week after Thanksgiving. We do not however get a tree until two weeks after Thanksgiving because I like to keep the tree up until the 6th of January.

  14. I usually decorate right after Thanksgiving, although being a student and not living in our hometown makes it difficult because I'm in the midst of exams (thus no time to decorate) and we won't be spending the actual holiday at home (so why decorate, anyway?), but I cannot resist the urge. I love it!

  15. First or second week in December (although one year was so crazy, the tree got put up on Christmas eve!)

  24. We try to get the decorations up by December 1st but our new tradition (this will only be year 2 of the tradition) is to put it up on the Sunday after Thanksgiving-that way we can enjoy it for almost a month!

  26. I like to decorate the 1st day of December (or that first weekend). I really look forward to it. It takes me an entire day to do everything. I do our entire living room in vintage/retro Christmas. I put up a silver aluminum tree with all the old ornaments complete with a color wheel. I also have little collections that get placed here and there.

  30. When the kids were little we would put the tree up about 2 weeks before Christmas (it was always a real tree).
But other decorations would make there way out of the closet that first week in December.

It has to be down by New Years though!

  44. I tend to decorate right after returning home from Thanksgiving Break. I used to live in an apartment, but my boyfriend and I just moved into a house just north of the UT campus (he's a TA there), so I would LOVE to win this card so I can get some fun home decorating things! House = way more fun to decorate than an apartment! :D

Thanks for the chance to win!

  61. I've been wondering if decorating right before Thanksgiving is too early. The two holidays seem to go together to me and I love having my Christmas tree up as long as possible before Christmas.

  62. Decorating for the holidays is so exciting and I can't wait to get it all out. I usually try in the middle of November, because I have parties starting in early Dec. Of course, I have to admit that come late Dec, I am ready for it to go.

  64. I devote an entire day to Christmas decorating my small college apartment - the day after Thanksgiving! My roommate and I watch Christmas movies (Elf is a big favorite), play Christmas music, make hot chocolate, and decorate together. Although we both love decorating, I think most of the fun comes from the fact that it's something we do together, and it's become a tradition in our years as roommates. We're both seniors at the University of Pittsburgh, and we've become best friends. We're both going to different graduate schools next year, so this will be our last year decorating our tiny but cute apartment together, an experience I anticipate will be bittersweet.

  73. Hi! I start pulling out the holiday bins the day after Thanksgiving-- once all the dishes are done :)

We put on "The Nutcracker" soundtrack, pour some eggnog and get to decorating!

Thanks for the chance-- I could really do some damage with $50 from C&B! : )

    Cheers!

  74. Just like the stores, we have pulled out the decorations out earlier and earlier. Usually, we'd have done some by now, but we're moving and everything is on boxes.
